| Honduras Improving Student Achievement Project (MIDEH)
The EQUIP2 “Improving Student Achievement in Honduras” (MIDEH) Project supports the Honduran Ministry of Education in the achievement of the country’s Education for All-Fast Track Initiative (EFA-FTI) and Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) goals.
The Project ensures capacity building and the sustainability of efforts to achieve EFA-FTI and PRS goals by working closely with Ministry of Education technical teams at the departmental and local levels. MIDEH builds the technical skills of teachers, school directors, and Ministry technical team members at the departmental and district offices— those who are best positioned to implement and sustain lasting improvements in attendance, graduation rates, and academic achievement in the nation’s classrooms.
Working closely with the EQUIP1 MIDEH Project, the team and Ministry counterparts implement activities that contribute directly to the achievement of EFA-FTI and PRS goals and have a demonstrable impact at the school, district, and departmental levels. These include training and technical accompaniment at the school and district levels, strategic planning at the departmental, district, and school levels, increased civil society participation in education, and improved access to and quality in pre-school education.
