ICNYP ORIGINS:

The International Council on National Youth Policy (ICNYP) is an international non-profit organization of an intergovernmental, non-governmental and expert nature dedicated to national youth policy and legally registered in Austria in 2002. Its activities at the international level involve Member States of the United Nations as well as intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations in consultative status with the UN system, and  at the regional level in the five regions of the United Nations.

ICNYP PURPOSE:

• encouraging and enabling all stakeholders, and most particularly youth, to participate in all aspects of a national youth policy;
• identifying the priority problems facing youth and society and preparing proposals for their solving;
• exchanging global information and research on national youth policy;
• formulating policy and program initiatives to strengthen capacities for national youth policy;
• stressing the linkage of national youth policy with national youth service.

 ICNYP programmes:

• Advisory services composed of senior consultants and young associates to provide consultant services and to undertake advisory missions on request from Governments;
• Regional training seminars on National Youth Policy for capacity-building of representatives of governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations concerned with youth;
• International expert meetings on National Youth Policy to exchange knowledge and experiences;
• Publishing on-line and up-date of a World Guide to Resources for Youth Policies to provide a reference to available funds and in-kind support for, by and with youth.
