June 2010: The classroom observation data is currently being encoded in an effort to evaluate the performance of the 1st and 2nd grade teachers trained in English language instruction under the TELL program.
September 2009: TELL was awarded an extension to expand the program and train 55,000 additional teachers in grade 1, 2, 3, and 4. Activities are planned to begin September 2009! August 2009: TELL has just released its "Classroom Observation Activity Data Analysis Report”. Results from the data analysis indicate that the TELL training was successful in improving teachers' use of participatory methods and teaching strategies for English language instruction. June 2009: In its final two months of operation, TELL is collaborating with the USAID Mission and the Ministry of Education (MOE) to continue ongoing capacity building with the MOE and ensure sustainability of the program. June 2009: The classroom observation data is currently being encoded in an effort to evaluate the performance of the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teachers trained in English language instruction under the TELL program. May 2009: TELL program trained a selected 60 teacher trainers as supervisors in classroom observation skills in order to monitor the impact of the large-scale teacher training effort. Supervisors subsequently collected classroom observation data from 300 teachers trained by TELL. |
