MESA Radio Program "Chimvano Cha Mavu" (Unity is Power)Hamilton Chimala

On October 24, 2003, the MESA radio program "Chimvano Cha Mavu" (Unity is Power) was launched and broadcast nationally for the first time on the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation Radio 1. The programme included a panel discussion comprising of Simeon Mawindo, Lester Namathaka, Max Iphani, George Jobe, and Madalo Samati, and centered on elaborating what MESA is, geographical coverage of the project, its main goal and objectives, the partner implementers and how each one will do their part.

The producer and presenter of the programme is Hamilton Chimala. Hamilton is assisted by Milton Thole. The first two programs discussed the project's objectives and operatations. The third program featured the radio project's new collaboration between the Kasungu and Mzimba South districts.

The program aims at disseminating project activities to the whole nation. Subsequent showshave highlighted project activities and community response. The radio has helped share ideas that one school has found successful in reaching project objectives and, at the same time, encouraged those being reported.

The broadcast is aired nationally via the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation every Wednesday from 6:45 pm to 7:00 pm.
