A new Mobile task team (MTT) modeled on the Southern Africa MTT, based at the University of Natal, that responds to the needs of MOEs to plan and implement a systemic response to HIV/AIDS, will be created to meet the specific needs of the West African countries. Once the new entity is established, funds will provide support to MTT/West to facilitate training of technical consultants, who are the team members, by MTT/South; to document the creation of MTT/West for possible replication; prepare a resource map of both regional and global funding for HIV/AIDS and how to access it; the support provision of MTT-type services to west African MOEs and seek additional funding partners for the west African institutional base for MTT/West from agency members of the of the UNAIDS Interagency Task Team on HIV/AIDS and Education (IATT) and others.
